The Rolex Watch Co. of Switzerland, founded by Hans Wilsdorf and his brother in law Alfred Davis, would first establish his business in England (1908) before settling in Switzerland. By 1919, Wilsdorf had established the Manufacture des Montres Rolex, at a time when the movements were crafted in Bienne and the watches were hand-finished in Geneva. On average, more than 200 technicians are involved in producing a single Rolex wristwatch, quite remarkable.

Condition Guide:
- Pristine - Items in "like new" condition. Shows no signs of wear. Worn very little, if at all.
- Mint - Items that have minimal wear. Worn only a few times. In "almost new" condition.
- Excellent - Items show signs of wear. Light surface scratches and possibly a few small dents or dings. Average condition considering the age of the item.
- Very Good - Items that have been worn regularly and have noticeable wear. Scratches, dents, and dings are more visible.

Winding Mechanism: Original signed calibre 3035 swiss automatic 27 jewel movement runs strong and accurate ~ last service was in 2017 by Rolex Authorized Service......Note: The Rolex calibre 3035 is today regarded as one of the best and most reliable mechanical calibres ever made by Rolex. And clearly, Rolex was satisfied by the movement since it had a production run of 12 years. The production of the Rolex caliber 3035 started in 1977 and it was eventually replaced by the successor, caliber 3135 in 1988. What further enhances the iconic status of the 3035 is the fact that it was the first-ever high-beat caliber that Rolex launched. Rolex did this by increasing the beats from 19,800 to 28,800 BPH, meaning 8 beats per second in order to increase the accuracy of the caliber. When the Rolex calibre 3035 was introduced, it also announced another first for Rolex, since it was the first-ever automatic caliber to feature a quickset date function

This is a vintage used watch. It has lived a life before you, so you should not expect it to be new and flawless. If you want a flawless new watch, please do not buy this. If you want a piece of history in the form of a nice vintage piece, or possibly a dated inscription on the case back, then this may be right for you. Because most vintage watches being offered are between 30-70 years old, small imperfections, scratches, and wear are to be expected
