Of all the watches that I collect and sell, this is perhaps the only firm that needs little introduction…having built its business over the last century on high quality, innovation and style. The Rolex Watch Co. of Switzerland, founded by Hans Wilsdorf and his brother in law Alfred Davis, would first establish his business in England (1908) before settling in Switzerland. By 1919, Wilsdorf had established the Manufacture des Montres Rolex, at a time when the movements were crafted in Bienne and the watches were hand-finished in Geneva. On average, more than 200 technicians are involved in producing a single Rolex wristwatch, quite remarkable.
I am a watch collector as well as buyer and seller of new, pre-owned, antique, and vintage watches
We Are U.S.A. Based Sellers
I only sell genuine, authentic, watches in "Good" to "Pristine" condition
A careful shopper who takes the time to study the photos, reads the entire description, and asks pertinent questions is our best customer.
Please note that all pictures are taken on the macro setting. This makes even the slightest imperfections, shadows during photography, and specks of dust appear much more prominent even though they are often not visible without magnification.
You will be pleasantly surprised, and receive many compliments, when wearing your watch. There is nothing that draws attention quite like a stunning watch.
If one were to design the perfect everyday sporty or dress watch with an attribute like a strong presence on the wrist, they would design the Rolex DateJust. Even at 36mm the Datejust wears nicely on the wrist given its beefy oyster case and longer lugs. Every vintage collection, even a sport watch collection, has at least one Datejust. The present example of this must-have reference is in beautiful condition.
Model: Datejust 1601
Case: 36mm, not counting crown
Crown: Signed 14k solid gold crown winds & sets smoothly
Bracelet: Jubilee stainless steel will fit a wrist up to 7.5"
Dial: Clean signed silver sunburst, much sought after, pie pan dial
Movement: Signed swiss calibre 1570 movement runs strong & accurate ~ this has a "non-quickset" date, which means the date cannot be changed independently without the hour hand passing midnight ~ patented instantaneous shutter-like date change near midnight.
Crystal: New acrylic crystal
Box/Papers: Comes with inner & outer Rolex box and cleaning cloth ~ no papers
Overall Condition: "excellent" condition ~ new crystal ~ signed clean silver sunburst dial ~ movement runs strong & accurate ~ signed 14k solid gold crown winds & sets smoothly ~ all functions working properly ~ no damage ~ all of our watches have been tested and serviced if needed ~ "stunning"
Because older vintage wristwatches were made smaller than watches made today, men or women can wear this and would look fabulous on your wrist.
