The Rolex Watch Co. of Switzerland, founded by Hans Wilsdorf and his brother in law Alfred Davis, would first establish his business in England (1908) before settling in Switzerland. By 1919, Wilsdorf had established the Manufacture des Montres Rolex, at a time when the movements were crafted in Bienne and the watches were hand-finished in Geneva. On average, more than 200 technicians are involved in producing a single Rolex wristwatch, quite remarkable.

- Pristine - Items in "like new" condition. Shows no signs of wear. Worn very little, if at all.
- Mint - Items that have minimal wear. Worn only a few times. In "almost new" condition.
- Excellent - Items show signs of wear. Light surface scratches and possibly a few small dents or dings. Average condition considering the age of the item.
- Very Good - Items that have been worn regularly and have noticeable wear. Scratches, dents, and dings are more visible

This is a vintage used watch. It has probably lived a life before you, so you should not expect it to be new and flawless. If you want a flawless new watch, please do not buy this. If you want a piece of history in the form of a nice vintage piece, with possibly a dated inscription on the case back, then this may be right for you. Because most vintage watches being offered are between 30-70 years old, small imperfections, scratches, and wear are to be expected
